Reducing Contact Lens Waste

We love contact lenses and the benefits that they bring. We also love daily disposables for their convenience and safety. But we don’t love adding to the problem of plastic waste and the negative consequences it has on our oceans and the animals that live there.

Recycle

Unfortunately contact lenses cannot be recycled in the same way that home plastic products usually can.

Committed to Reducing Waste

We want to make sure that we do everything we possibly can to reduce our environmental footprint. That’s why we provide a free drop off service for used contact lens blisters which are then recycled using Tettracycle’s systems.

Terracycle

We encourage everyone to drop in their used blister packs when they’re passing by and help us to stay as green as possible. Encourage your friends and relatives who wear contact lenses to do the same.

We don’t mind if you don’t get your lenses from us - please still use this service.

Our box is located near the front of the practice - simply drop in your used materials when you pass.
